Surprise Engagement at Grand Gimeno

The scene was set in the Olive Grove at Grand Gimeno where Mike would soon be popping the big question to Hannah. Vintage rugs created a walkway leading to a backdrop with neon lights creating the words, “will you marry me” and “I love you”. Pictures of the couple were sprinkled about to add a personal touch and arrangements of dried and fresh florals completed the proposal setup. Of course, family was invited to witness the exciting event and anxiously awaited the arrival of Mike and Hannah at the venue. Just as the sun began to set, Mike guided Hannah through Grand Gimeno’s blue doors where she had no idea what awaited her on the other side.

After her eyes adjusted to the outdoor light and she realized what was happening, emotion overcame Hannah, and happy tears began rolling down her face. Mike got down on one knee and proposed as both their families watched the sweet moment together. Hannah said, “yes” and Mike slipped the emerald cut ring onto her finger as everyone cheered in the background then joined the couple in celebration.

A family style table topped with boho inspired place settings and floral-filled baskets ran the length of the olive tree row and wicker lights hung above. Everyone enjoyed Choripan Sliders and Empanadas while mixing and mingling between two lounge spaces. One lounge was set up by the fireplace and housed a pink couch, rattan accent chairs, a wooden settee, ottoman poufs, accent pillows, coffee table, and tall sign that read, “collect beautiful moments”. The other lounge was set up between cocktail tables with a green couch, rattan chairs, wooden side tables, and coffee table. Hannah and Mike made their rounds as guests congratulated them on their engagement, then it was time for dinner.

Everyone made their way over to the long dinner table, grabbed a plate to fill up with our Jay’s Catering Asado, then headed to the built-in bar. Fresh off the grill Entrana and Pollo a la Parilla were the main entrées and Ensalada a Las Mesas and Potato, Egg and Mustard Salad complemented the meats as sides. The Asado Menu selections were chosen by Mike for the special occasion with help from our Event Specialist, Casey. As soon as everyone had filled their plates and taken a seat back at the table, a toast was shared to wish the newly engaged couple well. Glasses clinked over flickering candle flames, dinner and warm conversations were enjoyed, and the evening ended with an exciting start to wedding plans.
