Over the Moon Baby Shower

Over the Moon Baby Shower

Wood was burning in the custom pizza oven at Grand Gimeno as guests arrived to Sarah Rose’s baby shower. A lavender lemonade and red and white wine beverage station greeted guests and provided refreshment while everyone mixed and mingled in the Olive Grove after dropping off their gifts near the fireplace. White balloon clouds hung from olive tree branches and an “Over the Moon” backdrop stood against green hedges. Baby blue and champagne colored linens topped each table and hydrangea centerpieces were used as decoration. Pictures of the mama to be were framed on ivory painted wooden shelves and little love notes in gold and blue were adhered to the install. Tray passed hors d’oeuvres of Mini Corn Dogs, Fig, Goat Cheese & Mascarpone Tarts, and Lemon Parmesan Artichoke Hearts made their rounds while guests made DIY bath salts. Coconut oil, oats, lavender, chamomile, aloe, eucalyptus and more filled large bowls at the station and little jars with wooden spoons attached were grabbed and filled as take home gifts for attendees. Once it looked like everyone had arrived, guests were invited to take their seats.

Memories were shared by loved ones and wishes for the baby were filled out by everyone at each table, then dinner was ready. The Grand Gimeno Wood Fire Pizza Station was serving up Sweet & Salty pizzas and Grilled Chicken and Pesto pizzas along with Roasted Golden Beet Salad, Caesar Salad, and Caprese Skewers. After everyone filled their plates, it was time for games! The first game was to make baby boy names out of the letters of the soon to be baby’s parents names, Sarah Rose and Armand Barragan. With two minutes on the clock, attendees tried to make the longest list of baby names to win a prize. When the time was up, one of the guests won with 17 names created. The next game was a list of emojis and guests had to guess what children's book the emojis resembled, like Goodnight Moon and The Rainbow Fish. The most books guessed correctly was 14 books and the winner chose their prize. To end the night, a dessert station opened up with Lemon Bars, Mini Caramel Custard Flan, Fresh Fruit Tarts, and Strawberry Short Cakes and a delicious cake for everyone to enjoy.
